Peanut Clusters Recipe: Very Easy to Make Treat or Dessert

(Makes 100+ peanut clusters)

If your family is like mine, they are used to having dessert. Every. Single. Night.

When I was growing up, we usually had cookies, or ice cream. Or my mom made her awesome cheesecake, which always guaranteed a hoard of my friends showing up for some.

But my husband, kids, and even myself are something else. Dessert is always a part of our dinner routine. It’s never a matter of “is there anything for dessert?”. It’s a matter of “what are our dessert options today?”

Yep, they are spoiled. OK, WE are spoiled.

When I was a full time couponer, I constantly found deals for sweets, and of course I stocked up on those whenever I could. Now that I have stopped, or slowed down considerably, I confess I sometimes struggle with this. And while I know dessert is not a must have, it is nice to have a sweet little something right after dinner.

I have been covering the “basic need” that is dessert by baking cookies. This recipe is the best! Try it (you can thank me later- OK, maybe you can thank Kim of The Baking ChocolaTess later). This last week though, I felt like making something different.

My awesome Mother in Law gave me this recipe years ago and it totally rocks! I am not sure where she got it from. I believe a friend of hers gave it to her and she shared it with me. And now I am going to share with you.

This is very simple and, considering the amount of peanut clusters that result from the recipe, it’s not ridiculously expensive. Fair warning: although the recipe says it makes around 100, truth is, I cut the recipe in half this time and still made 88 of them!

Translation: If you make the recipe as is, you’ll have peanut clusters crawling out of your ears.

While I get most of my ingredients from my local grocery stores, I have included some links for those who, like me, love shopping online, or for those with limited shopping options.

Ingredients:

3 lbs of dry roasted peanuts (I buy mine in bulk but if that’s not an option, you may use any brand, like these.

3 lbs of Chocolate flavored almond bark

(1) 12 oz bag of Semi-sweet chocolate chips

(1) 4oz bar of Baker’s German Sweet Chocolate

  • You’ll need a Crockpot for this recipe. I have this one and love it!
  • You will also need wax paper. I completely forgot to get it when I went shopping and ended up using parchment paper, which also works.

Instructions:

As stated above, this recipe makes a ton of peanut clusters. If you think that you couldn’t reasonably eat that many before they go bad (and they last quite a bit, if stored properly), then cut it in half as well. Or maybe to 1/4. It’s up to you.

If you do decide to follow the recipe to a T, then split them into freezer bags and freeze for later consumption. Because there are five of us chocolate lovers here, we have never had to do that; however, I know that’s what my Mother in Law does all the time.

Are you making these? I really hope so! I know you will love it! Please, let me know if you make it and how it goes for you in the comments section below 😉
